Happy New Year!

Goodness, it's taken me until the 6th day of the new year to update my blog, that's a pretty poor show. Also doesn't bode well for the coming year!

Well, exams, Christmas and New Year are all done and dusted and can I just say, thank goodness. I know it's very un-festive of me and I love Christmas and New Year as much as the next person, but after a while it all just gets a bit much, y'know? I think most people think that but just don't want to say for fear of being called Scrooge or something. It was lovely to be back home with my folks and I managed to catch up with a lot of old friends, which was really great. It was also nice to be back in Edinburgh for Hogmanay, I had my brother and his girlfriend staying so it was good fun showing them my lovely city and taking them out for fireworks and boozing on New Year's Eve. I had a friend from school and his girlfriend staying for one night as well and it was good to sit around drinking wine, eating cheese and attempting to put the world to rights (well, Andrew and James did that, Kate and I discussed Doctor Who, which is every bit as important).

Now that it's all over though, it's really nice to be back in the peace and quiet of our lovely little flat. I'm not back to uni until Monday so I'm spending my time doing DIY (first DIY attempt ever, I'm putting up shelves!), catching up with washing, sleep and Buffy, sewing, catching up with Edinburgh friends and just generally enjoying the quiet. I have lots of photos to share but in the meantime, here's some little felt stocking decorations I made for friend's children:
