Here's my latest Etsy addition, a blue and white striped baby blanket. I love these blankets, they're so pretty when they're finished and they're a great stash buster, I'm planning on making some more complicated versions once I master more than 3 crochet stitches!
You can find this little one over here, I wish I knew someone with a baby, it would make a sweet christening or birthday gift!

Gosh, another bag
This series of posts makes it look like all I'm doing at the moment is making bags! This one is just another basic tote made for my brother's girlfriend as a belated birthday/graduation present. She seemed pretty thrilled with it, she's very into floral fabrics so I knew this choice from my stash would be a winner!
In other news I'm hopefully selling my old broken laptops today so the quest can finally begin for a new PC!

Matching slouchy hat
Well, this is my winter wardrobe sorted, accessories-wise! The gloves and scarf had their maiden voyage last night at the Assembly Tent in Princes Street Gardens as part of the Fringe. We drank some cider, watched some school bands play, ate some crepes and my scarf and gloves kept me super warm.
Here's the matching third in the trilogy, the slouchy hat. It's my second attempt at a hat and I'm really pleased with how it turned out, I might knock out a few as Christmas presents.
Apologies for the grainy photo, Andrew hasn't quite got used to the intricacies of my rather crappy camera.

Cable knit gloves
I'm so in love with these gloves! They took me 3 attempts (one of which involved putting the right thumb on the wrong side, leaving me with 2 left gloves) but they're going to be totally worth it, I (almost) wish it was cool enough at the moment for me to wear them!
They were a pattern from Ravelry, Kat's Chunky Cabled Gloves. It was a bit daunting starting them as the only other pair made on Ravelry were by the author. Normally I like patterns were thousands of people have made it before me, meaning if I get stuck I can look at other people's notes.
I'm pretty proud of these though!
In other news I'm still struggling on with my Simplicity skirt (2656 if anyone is interested). I wish I'd checked reviews before I bought it, I've now realised that I'm not the only one struggling with it. Still, I'm a cunning fox and have made this one in cheap cotton that I don't really care about so if I have to abandon it, I won't have lost too much. I'll keep you updated!

Yet more bags...
The ongoing laptop (or lack thereof) situation continues, I think I've got a buyer but then I need to set about finding a new PC for less than £200. *sigh* I can't wait to have money...
Continuing the subject of bags though, my Mum bought me this one about 4 years ago in Aberdeen from a little independent boutique-type shop. It's by Matt and Nat, Montreal-based designers specialising in vegan accessories. At the time I was going through a major vegetarian phase and was boycotting anything made of leather, so Mum bought me this bag for my birthday. They seem to have gone rather up in the world since then, but I still love and use the bag all the same. It's perfect size for taking my knitting to my craft group!
P.S. I wrote this whole post with a hedgehog on my head...

While we're on the subject of bags...
My very talented friend Vicky made me this bag for Christmas a few years back. As you can see, it's been well-loved, I used it *a lot* and so it's looking a bit grubby! She did the whole thing herself, including making the screen print.
The ongoing search for a new computer continues, I'm in the process of selling my 2 old broken laptops to raise some funds and then I'm waiting on Andrew upgrading his PC. Who knew I'd miss my laptop so much?

More tote bags
Goodness, it's been a while. I had my resit exam yesterday (hence the long break) and I think it went well *touches wood* I'm hoping to get back to blogging every day but sadly my laptop died a few days ago so I'm sharing with Andrew (which is like trying to wrest a dummy from a baby) so I have a feeling updates will be sporadic until I can sort out my computer situation.
In the meantime though, the Bowie Bag. I made this sometime last year whilst idly watching The Full Monty and it was one of those projects that had no plan but came out perfectly. I mean, there's the odd cock-up obviously but I *love* it and use it all the time.
The face side was a t-shirt that I bought from Miss Selfridge and wore to death. Andrew never liked it because David's forehead was across my boobs so was stretched into a kind of alien-shape, which used to freak him out a bit. The Ziggy Stardust side was a sweatshirt that I loved but was a completely unflattering colour on me.
I ♥ you David.
